Want to design something great?

We have a number of existing digital projects we are working on. Lightning Kite has an awesome team of software engineers that need a little design help. We are a close knit bunch that all work out of a really cool office in Logan, Utah. We also have a number of challenging projects on the horizon and we want qualified people to help us decide how to make the most out of these opportunities. You will be an integral part of the design, development and testing of all of these.

Basic Qualifications

• Autonomously work to achieve aesthetically pleasing and usable design for a great variety of projects for desktop and mobile devices
• Strong skills in developing advanced applications for the iOS platform
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and desires and translate that into an intuitive user interface for target markets
• Understand the needed functionality of the app or website at a high level to organize it in a logical manner
• Communicate effectively with developers to ensure that all desired functionality is possible
• Willingness to learn software engineering terminology regarding topics such as 3rd party integrations, differences between Android and iOS, content management systems, ecommerce, etc.
• Conduct usability testing
• Use responsive design to accommodate varying sizes of devices
• Put clients in a competitive position to function well in an ever changing design world
• Use various design principles, patterns, color psychology, and UX laws to inform design decisions; then use this knowledge to back up reasoning for said design decisions
• Organize wireframes and designs to share with clients through feedback rounds
• Proficiency in Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with various prototyping tools
• Project management skills
• Any programming experience a plus (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.)
